Having started doing hair at just 11 years old, CC understands firsthand the power of early mentorship and the impact of investing in young minds. This realization led her to create the Next Level Cosmetology Camp for Kids—a groundbreaking initiative designed to fill the gap in camps dedicated to cosmetology, barbering, and entrepreneurship, ensuring that children from elementary to high school gain valuable skills and confidence in these fields. Coming from humble beginnings, CC was raised by a hardworking teen mother and understands the importance of community support, a value that drives her mission to help others turn their dreams into action.

Today, she wears many hats, including award-winning celebrity hairstylist, licensed faith-based counselor, two-time international best-selling author, mentor, and professor of cosmetology.

Through her work, Next Level Cosmetology Camp for Kids has expanded to 12 schools in the Fort Worth Independent School District, partnered with Fort Worth Public Libraries, and now offered internationally in Kuwait. Beyond her camp, CC has launched multiple initiatives to empower individuals in all aspects of life, including Married and Proud, a retreat strengthening marriages for couples under 40; The Big Hat Boss Brunch, an annual mentorship event for female entrepreneurs; and Mo Betta Beat, a concert raising awareness about mental health.

As the author of Hair University, the groundbreaking textbook she developed as the first professor of cosmetology at Tarrant County College, as well as Girl, Hold Your Own Damn Purse! and its follow-up The Guide to Healing Yourself, CC has become a leading voice in self-help and motivation, topping Amazon’s best-seller charts in record time.
